Mountain in Michigan, good snowboarding, snowboarded on New Years Eve and met my wife there.

Jiminy Peak in Massachusetts, great few days of snowboarding with wonderful weather, first time I have every snowboarded in a t-shirt and did a jump off a black diamond.

Lastly, the local mountain, sundown, rather expensive but it had a good terrain park and its the only place around for night skiing. If you add new snow and old friends its a good equation for great snowboarding.

What mountains are to come??????

My trip to Michigan 12/25/07

Michigan, the state with the longest freshwater shoreline in the world was interesting to visit this winter break. Although its Native Americans took my money at the casino, and its wintery conditions slapped me around on the ski slopes, I learned to appreciate the smaller things in life, especially not having technology for a week and a half.

We got to the border after around 10 hours of driving, with 5 more to go to get to mancelona michigan.

We arrived at the cabin after about 15 hours of driving, just minutes from turning into flesh eating zombies due to insomnia.

When we arrived it started snowing (typical michigan) good thing I bought myself some cowboy boots days prior to combat the tundra

Above: me pissed off about the snow and cold weather

However, there was hope in sight, I met my future wife days after arriving in Michigan, and my snowboarding became much more bearable. Soon enough I was snowboarding down every hill just to impress a girl, oh boy.

here is a view from the face hill

After hearing about how bad detroit was, I took a ride down with eric and the wife to check out what eminem and all the thugz have been rapping about.

Photobucket

Turns out downtown detroit isnt all that bad and we took a "people mover" around in a giant circle cuddling to stay warm.

The trip back took about 10 hours, we left 9pm jan 2nd and arrived jan 3rd at 7am. Next time im flying.
